Planning on traveling internationally? Please note the following:

Effective October 1, 2007, ALL American Airlines/American Eagle passengers on an international flight are required to hold a valid passport (in addition to any other required documentation) to enter or depart the United States by air.

This initiative does not affect travel between the United States and its territories. U.S. citizens traveling between the United States, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, and American Samoa will continue to be able to use established forms of identification to board flights and for entry.

New U.S. Passport Card is NOT VALID FOR TRAVEL BY AIR. The new U.S. Passport Card which the U.S. Department of State began issuing earlier this year may only be used for international land and sea travel between the U.S., Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Bermuda. Note: these new U.S. Passport cards may not be used for travel by air.
